Yes. (and you are right it is Ian Bartholomew). Interestingly in the marching photo Roger does not yet have his buttons.Mid A 15 wrote:Is Roger Lane the button Grecian next to Ian? Bartholomew who is next to "Ratty?"AKAP wrote:Mrs C
we posted together and my reply was for MidA15.
But yes, well spotted, others worth spotting played for Wales and British Lions and from a previous link one who now sports large military type moustache to balance a big back pack.
The house behind us in the marching photo is Col A and I can name two people in their front rank.

I'll go for Harry Spurrier as the older guy. Not 100% on that thoughRichard Ruck wrote:Some of the younger blokes in this photo were in Mid B. when I was, but it's a real struggle to put names to faces.
Des Lockyer, Adrian Gray and a couple of McDaids spring to mind.
Staff - Ratty James, Gerald Davies, Matron (ashamed I can't remember her name, but she was very nice), can't name the older guy, Keith Stratton (who was my tutor for a while).
Rex Sweeny behind the cups?

Thanks, I remember now.Mid A 15 wrote:In case you missed my earlier post Matron was Jessie Rawson.
A nice lady - she let me nick a load of buttons on my last day. I still have them on a blazer (not that I wear blazers too often, you understand!).

Agreed, but she must have trained with the Hartford matron she couldn't understand why we would wear our own underwear rather than put up with a twice a week change of CH issue.Richard Ruck wrote:Thanks, I remember now.Mid A 15 wrote:In case you missed my earlier post Matron was Jessie Rawson.

Tim Skinner (mass of curly hair) back row extreme right and Dave Agnew is the taller chap next to him. Michael Burns is sitting next to you I think.AKAP wrote:Correct, I'll name some others but I'll wait and see if there are anymore IDs.
I met Dave some years after leaving as he was working in a care home just up the road from where I was living at the time.

Michael Powell seated exteme left (not a master's son just another spot.)
Roddy Powell next to Dave Agnew Shearing next to him. Graham Lister tall chap next to HPH.
It's strange how the names come back the longer you look at the picture.

It's a bit worrying how you remember all this when it wasn't your house.
The only identification you've given I'm not sure about is the boy next to Rod Powell. I'm not sure but I think his name was Knaggs not Shearing.
For some in the photo I can hear them speaking but can't remember a name.
