Nigel Farrell
Has anyone else noticed that the TV producer/presenter Nigel Farrell (Mid.B late 60's/?early 70's) has died of pancreatic cancer? He was a nice bloke. Contemporary of mine.

I'm very sad to read this post.Goatherd wrote:Has anyone else noticed that the TV producer/presenter Nigel Farrell (Mid.B late 60's/?early 70's) has died of pancreatic cancer? He was a nice bloke. Contemporary of mine.
Nigel was a year ahead of me in Mid A (I think his junior house was Maine B) and he was a nice bloke as you say in that he didn't make the life of those junior to him a misery. His best friend in Mid A was Mike Wintle if memory serves me right.

Re: Nigel Farrell
Apologies. I could have sworn that he was in Mid.B. Thanks for the correction.

Re: Nigel Farrell
I thought my brother Richard might know him and he replied
He was in my year in Mid A and a friend - I went to a party he had in London when I was at Oxford, but no contact since then although we watched and enjoyed some of his TV programmes. He was great fun at CH, a total exhibitionist with a wicked sense of humour (and a v good batsman). Went to medical school at Bart's (I think his father had been a doctor) but then became a journalist, and produced some lovely highly personalised TV programmes. V good at meeting all sorts of people and drawing them out. Of my year in Mid A, (about 10 of us), at least 3 have died.

I certainly hope so. Too late for the forthcoming issue but would be happy to include it in the next one.J.R. wrote:I trust 'someone' is preparing an obit ?
